Live Dandiya music & Gujrathi food - an experience to remember!

It was my first time when I was going to attend a live Dandiya event with grand music & Gujrati food stalls. It was organised on a huge playground with all the required set-up. As soon as we entered the enclosed area dedicated for Dandiya dance-form, I got an overall idea about its grandeur.

Live Dandiya dance event and Gujarathi food relish is definitely an experience to cherish! Huge designated space for Dandiya with a live band & number of stalls of typical Gujarathi tasty food.

This event actually proves that music band doesn't have to be always with guitarists, keyboardists always. This traditional music with its speed gradually increasing from low to high is no less than any international music band. There are certain kinds of beats and rhythm on which Garba or Dandiya is performed. It can't be described. It has to be experienced :). So, these beats start with a very slow speed, eventually reaching a climax with high speed beats with everything being played on a traditional instrument live and sung by singers from the band.

Dandiya is the name of the props that you use while dancing. It's a pair of wooden sticks decorated with colors and ribbons. The dance is performed in pairs by colliding the Dandiya on each other with your dance partner along with some specific dance steps matching the beats of the music simultaneously. It's a great form of physical activity, exercise and stress buster, all in one!

After the dance comes another inviting factor of this event -- food! All kinds of Gujarathi delicacies from Thepla, Dhokla, Fafda, Jalebi, Patra to Kachhi Dabeli, Dahi chaat, Khichdi-Kadhhi, Thali. You will find everything under the same roof. And everything will be delicious and satiating!

Whenever you get a chance, watch out for Live Dandiya event (not disco or DJ Dandiya) in your city and do pay a visit for an entire evening. You won't regret because it's an experience to remember for life!
